Akilles continued to remain near, occasionally glancing over towards Shadow and Ade, his ears tilting this way and that before he looked towards the snow capped mountains in the distance; the lands were Craigen was the leader. Personally, he couldn’t imagine owning such a harsh land. The snow and ice weren't his fancy, as he was much more content surrounded by trees and the lake. Of course, he was quite curious of the other lands and what other horses that was around. The forest, prairie, and so on. His gentle brown gaze shifted towards the white mare once more before looking off.

Shadow smiled at the red roan stallion. "Dear sir. Please, will you listen as well. It could save your life someday." She said gently.

Ade listened, a bit more interested now than she had originally been. If she became lead of a herd, then she would need to know all of these things to keep them in better health. With a faint nod of her head, she glanced over to her father. "There is a meadow not far from here. May I take her there since many of the things she is talking about grow there?" she asked her father, passing a quick glance to Shadow before looking back to Akilles.

Akilles looked towards the mare and then to Ade. Well, it would prove fruitful to gain knowledge of about the various herbs so it wouldn’t hurt to pay attention, although he would much prefer to patrol his lands. Then again, he had to keep an eye on this stranger mare. He gave a slight bob of his head.
“The meadow would be a pleasant spot,” he spoke as he turned towards the direction of the paddock. “Plus, you’re right, Shadow. Perhaps it would payoff to learn of the understanding of herbs. I’d hate for anything to happen to my quaint herd,” he added, passing the mare an iffy glance. “Thus, let’s make way towards the meadow then.” With that, Akilles started to walk at a relaxed pace towards the destination.

Ade felt a sense of excitement now and fell in step beside her sire out of habit. She kept pace at his right side, her head only slightly lower and her shoulder only slightly back from his to show he was lead. Her ears were forward though, her eyes bright as she looked out over her home. Now she would learn more about it and hopefully understand what all it had to offer other than shelter and food. It seemed to open up so many more doors for the filly as someday she might be able to use such knowledge.

Shadow breathed out a sigh of relief that she didn't know she held, but at least she was gaining some trust with potential future healers. It was heart warming to see the filly suddenly eager and a bit humorous about the stallion talking about his 'herd'. Hardly. If there were other members, they would have stuck close to either Ade or Akilles. And they were not present which meant it was only father and daughter.
But nonetheless, did Shadow falter as they came to the meadow. It was beautiful in the sun, the grass reaching her shoulders easily. "Wow! So many flowers and herbs are here!" The creamello mare gasped.

The meadow was a serene place, just like the lake. Akilles held his head high as he trotted at a steady pace, the tall grass bushing against his sturdy body with his motion. A breeze whirled about the area, the blades of grass taking on the form of a body of water as they billowed in the wind. The sight was magnificent. The aroma of floral filled the stallion’s nostrils as he ceased his movement and took in a deep breath, become intoxicated with the scent.
“Yes, there is an abundance of plants and herbs here. This is a splendid area to learn,” Akilles spoke, his short mane was teased by the playful gust as he stood his ground and scanned the area.

Trotting beside her father, Ade suddenly felt the urge to play. Glancing over to her father a smile graced her lips before she reached over and nipped at him, tugging at his mane almost like a playful foal. With a squeal and a shake of her head, she surged forwards into a canter. When she was a safe distance ahead she kicked up her heels, giving a few good bucks before she settled into a canter once more.

Shadow had to laugh softly at their behavior. It was fun, and heart warming to see them both play, nothing at all like the manner they had with her not long ago.
"Of course, we can begin learning after you both have played a little. Go on. I'll wait and watch." The creamy mare said, stopping where she stood, taking in the sights and the breeze. Unfortunately, her mane was a bit knotted as the wind played with it, making the long locks spray across her neck. It felt good to finally feel the warm wind of spring-summer and no longer be cold and wet.

Akilles gave a disgruntled snort upon his daughter’s action before he shook out his mane and trotted after her. His tail was perked up like a red-orange banner as he picked up his pace and cantered after her. A whinny sounded from him as he gave chase, keeping his speed steady, the grass striking his body. His hooves thudded upon the earth with each step, the winds whipping passed him like tendrils, teasing his mane in a mischievous manner. He pushed himself faster into a gallop, easing up to Ade’s side, before he reached over and teasingly nipped at her mane for pay back. A playful sound escaped him as he sprinted away from her, slowing down to a steady trot, keeping an ever watchful gaze on the young red roan.

Shadow laughed, before she could feel the joy and fun radiating from them both and was sorely tempted to join in. But this, this special bond was a father and daughter bond. It wasn't to be touched, not to be messed with. And an outsider, had no business interfering.

Akilles eased himself to a halt as he shook his head, tussling his short cut mane about with a snort before looking towards Shadow, ears perked before his gaze shifted towards Ade. He let out a soft nicker before casually trotting back to the pale mare and stopped just a few feet away from her. Now that they had their fun, he supposed that it was time to learn what Shadow wished to teach them. It would be best to get all the information he could to take better care of his rather small herd. Akilles gave a small dip of his head to express that he was ready to pay attention.

Ade wasn't ready to give up her fun, but she knew that serious business was at hand. With a snort and another shake of her head, she too trotted back over to the pale mare where she stopped beside her family to look at Shadow. Muscles bunched under her hide, ready to explode with action if given the chance to play again, but she controlled herself and merely just waited for what was to come next.
