ooc: I couldn't find his old picture so I'm using a random one I found on my computer, lol.
Name:
Erebos
Age:
25 years old
Gender:
Male
Loyalty:
---
Rank:
---
Home:
Misty Forest
Race:
Human
Description:
Erebos has an almost skeletal build and many scars criss-crossing his skin due to his lack of connecting with reality. His ribs and spine are apparent beneath his worn skin, his eye sockets appear bruised from lack of sleep and his skin is sickly pale from his lack of taking care of himself. He has a height of five feet and nine inches and weighs in at one-hundred fifteen pounds.
To hide his body from preying eyes, Erebos wears a black cloak that conceals his wretched condition, which is over top of a deep red, cotton button-up shirt. He wears a black vest over that, with black trousers. A leather belt is worn around his waist as he carries a satchel with him everywhere to carry his books, potions, herbs, and etc.
His eyes appear black and his hair is black and tussled about. He adorns a thin beard, as he doesn’t tend to care about shaving much. Etched upon his back by the blade of a dagger is a ritualistic symbol that is similar to this picture. Of course, he doesn’t quite understand what it stands for, as his mother was the one to carve it upon his person when he was young and told him that it would protect him.
Personality:
Matter-of-fact, deceiving, and quick to move to execute decisions are the words that can explain Erebos in a nutshell. He likes to organize projects and push people out of the way to get things done; he focuses on getting results in the most efficient way possible and tending to his studies rather tending to his own person. Taking care of routine details is another thing he has to do to satisfy his tendencies. Having a clear set of logical standards and systematically follow them is another tick of his being that he can be controlling and judgmental. He is forceful in implementing his plans upon others when he wishes for people to heed his voice.
There is also the darker side of Erebos, the more deranged.
Being that he dwells in the dark arts and practices the magick of necromancy (a form of magic that involves communication with the deceased, either by summoning their spirit in the form of an apparition or raising them bodily for the purpose of divination) and thus dealing with the dead disturbs him mentally. He uses his own blood for his magickal rituals, thus he slices his own flesh whenever he desires to commune with the undead. Erebos is also a grave robber who travels to cemeteries to snatch up items from those who passed as well as stealing bodies for his own use and taking them to his cottage nestled in the depths of the forest.
History:
Erebos never knew his father as he grew up with his mother, who practiced witchcraft and did what she could to teach her son to live a nature respecting lifestyle, but she always figured that something was off about her son. Growing up, he had taken interest in the afterlife and the dead, a coming across a dying raven. With much interest he watched as it bled out from its busted, wrangled wing and partially open beak until it breathed its last breath. Ever since, he had taken much interest in what happens after a person and animal dies and the occult.
His mother, Liluna, had become disturbed by Erebos’ obsession with the dead and desired nothing more than the set him straight. Of course, she lived by the ways of love and tolerance but she didn’t feel comforted by the fact that her son had taken great interest in dwelling with the ways of the dead.
Liluna had become greatly distressed as the years dragged on and Erebos started acting out more and more. It started out small with him mess around with rodents and small mammals, trapping them and fiddling with them behind her back, eventually he started getting into reading about the occult and rituals that dawdled on the subjects revolving around the dead and demons.
This soon turned into Erebos using the animals’ blood to draw sigils and symbols that appeared alien to Liluna, and thus she decided to act. Upon the day of his thirteenth birthday, Liluna had craved the symbol, which is explained in the description section, in hopes of that helping cleanse him of his dark ways. Grinding sage, salt, and rosemary into the fresh wound this caused Erebos much disorientation that he was under the influence that his mother had turned against him and that, perhaps, something had possessed. Now plotting the thoughts of revenge, he waited for his chance to strike.
It wasn’t until he was sixteen that everything took a turn for the worse. Erebos’ skill in necromancy had grown a vast amount, which resulted in him hearing voices of the undead, seeing apparitions, and conjuring up small demons such as imps and shadow cats. This was all baring down upon Liluna and she simply didn’t wish to take anymore. Though it broke her heart to have it come to this she up and left in the middle of the night, leaving Erebos to fend for himself. She figured that it was for the best, given his abilities and freakish interest.
Feeling abandoned and betrayed, Erebos had isolated himself from civilization, only ever dwelling into town whenever he desired any sort of items. He felt deprived of feels, sensations, and felt out of sync with reality which in turn maybe him feel as though his magick had weakened and he strived to perfect his skill. The thought of using his own blood filled his mind and he did just that. Using his own plasma for his practice made him feel in tune with the dead and felt as though he was stronger than ever.
Ever since then he has remained in the cottage he grew up in, dwelling among the dead and demonic beings, digging up the recently deceased and sometimes kidnapping unsuspecting wanders and using them to conjure up spirits, monsters or simply for the thrill. Not once had he gone to seek out his mother, but he has been debating on the matter just to get revenge on abandoning him.
Other:
Being the necromancer that he is, Erebos has devolved some magickal skills which are, conjuring small demons, such as imps, shadow cats, ghosts, and the like, as well as speaking with the dead, animating corpses for a little awhile, and seeing spirits. He can also conjure up fire, ice, and sparks from his hands.
His main weapon is a scythe, but he also uses a dagger.
