Sitting alone next to a tree, Tauska let out a sigh. Why had she allowed Zaracheil to convince her of coming out here? Their father needed them and here she was out in the territory when there was business to tend too. Tail wrapped around her paws, ears pricked and alert, the she-wolf was growing impatient. Her red and grey fur was blended well into the tall grasses of the plains and only this single tree was providing good shade for her wait. Her brother though, with his lighter coloring of red would be even harder to spot among the tan grasses. Raising her muzzle slightly she tried to scent him but caught nothing. Where was he?
Her question was quickly answered when a force slammed into the side of her. Teeth snapping she got a chest full of his fur but managed to do him no damage. “Zaracheil! Get off of me!” she growled though his deep rumbling laughter was his only reply as he climbed off. Her brother was much larger, burlier than she was. He was the warrior and she was the healer, it had always been that way and so they had always gotten along well. His lust for power often scared her but since she did not stand in his way of becoming alpha after their father he had nothing to hold against her. Instead he supported her being healer, a rank that most of the time supported the alpha’s decisions without being a competition much as a beta would be.
“Let’s go hunting Tauska, you need to stretch your legs. They are too cramped from laying around the den all day every day” Zaracheil teased which earned him a flash of teeth. “Fine” she reluctantly agreed. “But only a quick hunt” She added which earned another laugh from Zaracheil. “Whatever you say sis”
